Creating the Standard: the Pilatus Class
Engineering is the cornerstone of Research & Development at Pilatus. The team of over 300 highly skilled engineers is responsible for the implementation of ongoing improvements to existing aircraft, and the development of new aircraft types. In terms of performance, design, simplicity and ease of handling, all these aircraft are exceptional in every way.
With access to state-of-the-art industry technology, Pilatus engineers accompany each new aircraft type from the earliest conceptual study through to production handover, via the design, prototype, testing and certification phases.
All under the control of a single, interdisciplinary organisational structure. The results are evident: Pilatus is the world leader in the development, manufacture and servicing of single-engine turboprops. Pilatus now offers also a first-class product in the jet category - the PC-24.
The “Design Organisation Approval” provides formal confirmation of Pilatus Engineering skills. It authorises Pilatus to carry out numerous certification activities for new aircraft, aircraft parts and systems under the watchful eye of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
